The Flying Misfits

The Osborne RC flying club, commonly known as the "Flying Misfits" is a loose group of guys that get together and fly on a semi-regular basis. The club was formed by Dick Chandler, and he is the defacto leader, doing tasks from organizing fun flies to instructing rookie pilots. Dick is an 'old school pilot', who earned his stripes at the time when RC technology was "stone aged". Find out more about Dick and the other pilots here.

The Flying misfits fly off a nice grass field located at the Osborne Municipal Airport. With defined runways covering all the relevant directions, good flying is possible regardless of wind direction.

Hov'ring there I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue, I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, nor even eagle flew - And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod the high untresspassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand and touched the face of God
